How much does snow plow installation cost?
There is no single price for every truck. Hiniker publishes a $1,000–$2,500 installation-and-setup example that includes mounting hardware, wiring and controller setup. That is broader than labour alone. It is a manufacturer’s budgeting example, not Full Flow Hydraulics’ price list or a confirmed Canadian-dollar quote. Ask Durand to price the actual equipment and work required.
The quick breakdown: four things to price
Use this checklist when talking to Durand at Full Flow Hydraulics in Aldergrove. Prepared by PlowInstallations editorial; the amounts below are attributed external examples, not a quotation from Durand.
01 · Mounting and truck compatibility
Identify the truck, mounting system and plow. Ask which brackets and hardware are included, whether existing parts can be reused, and whether removal or fabrication is separate.
02 · Wiring, controller and lighting
Ask whether the quote covers a compatible harness, controller connections, lighting integration and testing. Existing wiring still needs assessment. Do not assume a truck prep package includes every plow component.
03 · Assembly and accessories
Crated assembly is a different job from fitting the plow to a truck. List the cutting edge, deflector, wings and spreader separately so the shop can define the scope.
04 · Diagnosis and handover
For used equipment, describe faults before booking. Ask what inspection, hydraulic checks and functional testing are included, and how any extra repairs will be approved.
What published shop rates actually tell you
These examples show why line items matter. They do not establish a Lower Mainland average or Full Flow’s rates. Dollar figures stay as published; US-shop amounts have not been converted to Canadian dollars.
- Installation and setup: Hiniker’s $1,000–$2,500 example includes mounting hardware, wiring and controller setup.
- US shop example: SnowplowsPlus in Waverly, Minnesota lists $850 for a new plow package install and $150 for crated-plow assembly. Its page also advertises a starting price of $700; confirm the applicable package with that shop rather than treating either figure as universal.
- Accessories: that same US shop lists $75 for a cutting-edge installation, with another $25 if old bolts require torching, and $125–$175 for snow deflectors. Parts and additional work may be separate.
- Canadian diagnostic example: Snow Removal Experts in Maple Ridge publishes $150 per hour for repairs and diagnostics, while installation is quoted at a flat rate. That is another business’s stated rate, not Durand’s.
If adding a spreader, ask for a separate line item covering the mounting arrangement, wiring, controls and any required repairs. Confirm current prices directly with the installer.
Send Durand the details before booking
- Truck year, make, model, engine and relevant modifications.
- Plow brand, model, serial or identification plate, and whether it is new or used.
- Clear photos of the blade, mount, harness, controller and any damaged areas.
- The work required, your preferred timing and whether you are supplying parts.
Ask for the quote’s currency, included parts, labour, fluids, testing, any applicable charges and the approval process for extra work. Full Flow confirms fitment, scope, price, parts availability and booking directly.

Is $1,000–$2,500 labour only?
Not in the Hiniker example cited here. It includes mounting hardware, wiring and controller setup. Ask for an itemized quote for your equipment.
What does Full Flow charge?
This guide does not publish a confirmed Full Flow rate. Contact Durand with your truck and plow details for current pricing.
Is assembly the same as installation?
No. Assembling a plow from a crate does not necessarily include mounting it to the truck, installing the harness or integrating controls and lights.
