Pre-season snowplow repairs: the checklist to bring Durand

Wiring, controllers, hydraulics, cutting edges and the work to confirm before the first push. Build a clear repair brief for Durand at Full Flow Hydraulics.

A checklist for the shop conversation.

Tick the topics you want Durand to review, add your equipment details and print or email the brief. A tick records a request—not a passed inspection, completed repair or confirmed booking.

For a visual walk-around, park securely, lower the blade and follow the manufacturer’s shutdown instructions. Do not work beneath raised equipment or reach into moving, energised or pressurised systems. Let the shop assess a suspected safety fault before further operation.

01

Identify the equipment

Start with a record the shop can match to the machine. A brand name alone is not enough to confirm a part, controller or mounting arrangement. Photograph identification plates and the whole setup from a safe position.

02

Electrical & controllers

Describe the symptom before naming a replacement part. Tell Durand whether the controller is unresponsive, a function is intermittent or the problem changes when the equipment is cold. Electrical diagnosis, including any solenoid fault, belongs in the shop’s assessment.

03

Hydraulics & fluid service

Note leak locations, hose condition, slow movement and the last known fluid service. Do not check for a pressurised leak with your hand or loosen a fitting to investigate. Ask the shop to select the correct fluid and procedure for the exact plow.

04

Cutting edge, pins & fabrication

Record wear, missing parts or visible damage. Ask Durand to assess a worn cutting edge, seized pivot pin or damaged structure before agreeing a repair. Welding, extraction and reinforcement require a defined scope and an assessment of manufacturer requirements; they are not automatic fixes for every plow.

05

Mounting, lights & truck readiness

Have the shop review attachment condition and the equipment’s compatibility with the vehicle. WESTERN’s checklist includes mounting hardware, lighting, electrical connections and vehicle readiness. Use the instructions for your own model rather than transferring settings from another plow.

06

Agree the service handover

Ask before the busy winter period. The shop confirms availability, parts, pricing and the work it will accept. Agree whether diagnosis is the first authorised step, how additional work will be approved and what will be demonstrated at collection.

Your equipment & repair brief

These notes stay in this page until you print them or open your own email app. No booking is submitted here.

The email button opens your mail app. Attach clear, safely taken photos before sending. Full Flow confirms scope, pricing, parts and availability directly.

Finish with a clear collection check.

Keep the diagnostic findings, authorised work and any remaining concerns together. At collection, ask which functions were checked, what maintenance comes next and whether anything still limits use. Keep the actual service record with the truck and plow information so next season’s conversation starts with facts.
